A very "primitive" clay tambourine, obtained by baking a small cylinder of mud in the sun. The skin membrane is fixed to the clay whilst it is still wet and, when it hardens, holds it stretched. This is an instrument for accompaniment, used during choral dances and singing together with other instruments. It could almost be defined "a piece of living desert".
