Also known by the name of ZUMMARA, the MEJWES is a sort of double clarinet made of canes. The two short canes are identical in length and have the same number of holes. The ARGHUL is also a double clarinet, but unlike the previous one, has a cane without holes which in some cases may even be more than two metres long and which acts as a supporting drone. In general, these wind instruments, of Arabic origin, belong to the category of popular music.
